Based on the individual criteria, each dimension is classified into one of the following six maturity degree levels:
Level 1 - Chaotic – The implementation and results of business process management are incomplete and random. If process management approaches can be identified, the affected measurements are implemented isolated and without concrete planning.
Level 2 - Rudimentary – Initial activities for developing business process management have been implemented. The necessity of business process management has been realized (at least at some parts) and first measurements have been taken.
Level 3 - Advanced – Comprehensive activities for the development of a companywide business process management have been implemented. The business process management activities are coordinated within an integrated approach.
Level 4 - Integrated – Business process management has been established in the whole organization. A noticeable degree of application has been reached in all EDEN-dimensions.
Level 5 - Controlled – Business process management is applied efficiently and target-oriented in the organization. All levels and employees of the organization are integrated, the processes are controlled target-oriented and business process management is enhanced on the basis of measurements.
Level 6 - Sustainable – The process culture is part of the corporate culture. Process thinking and the application of process management in all areas are anchored in the organization and in the consciousness of the employees.
